I recently entered three new fine art works in the Elko County Art Club Annual Show at the Northeastern Nevada Museum in Elko, NV. One of the pieces, a sculpture titled “Creative Flow” is pictured above. It depicts many of the artistic creations that have flown out of my brain.
The two other works entered include a new addition to my “Herd” digital art series titled “Rainbow Herd” (shown below) and a watercolor work titled “White Knight to the Rescue,” which I completed in 2012. The exhibit will be on display at the museum through April 14, 2014.
I have also added a third new “Herd” to my series of stenciled digital art horse herds that began with my Southwest Herd. The newest work is titled Rainbow Herd II that incorporates more traditional rainbow colors than the herd shown above. I created the colored areas of all the herd horses using melted wax.
Prints and notecards of all my herds are available at the Northeastern Nevada Museum Gift shop and on my website. Six-notecard sets of each of the three herd color patterns include cards featuring the full herd and the individual horses. I’ve also created a 6-notecard set that includes designs from each of my three herd color patterns.
What do you think of this Herd series? Should I create similar herds with other encaustic colors/patterns for the horses? If so, what color combinations would you like me to tackle next?
